Hotel Nassereinerhof

The history of the Hotel Nassereinerhof

This traditional hotel is managed by the family Cordin since 1952 and dates back to 12th century.  The court, which was first used as a customs station later as a blacksmith as well as a post office up ended up as an inn.  The inn was called "Inn of the Holy Cross", and opened in 1637.  Even the monarch Emperor Franz Josef was once a guest in the still preserved in its original condition parlor (built in the year 1709).  Since then, they named the parlor "Joseph Stub'm" and it is available to our guests for a cozy evening.

The history of skiing in St. Anton am Arlberg

Founding of the Ski club Arlberg (1901),
the first ski race (1904),
the first ski school (1921)
and the birth of the Arlberg-Kandahar-race (1928)

The first traces of tourism on the Arlberg date back to the 19 century. But only with the development of alpine skiing, supported by the pioneers of the Arlberg ski area, the legendary reputation was founded.

With Hannes Schneider a natural talent was born in this new sport art,  As the main actor in the movies by Dr. Arnold Franck "Wunder des Schneeschuhs", "Fuchsjagd im Engadin" he contributed significantly to the popularity of the Arlberg.  By experts like Pepi Jennewein, Rudi Matt in the 30s and Karl Schranz skiing and the Arlberg became a household name throughout the world.
